Pune: Drunk Driver Crashes Into DCP Himmat Jadhav’s Car; Daughter Injured, Two Held
Pune, August 16, 2025: A drunk driving incident in Mundhwa on Friday night led to a serious mishap when a car rammed into the vehicle of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav.
The accident occurred in Keshav Nagar between 10 and 10:30 pm while DCP Jadhav was traveling with his family. His daughter, who was in the car at the time, suffered minor injuries and received immediate medical care.
Mundhwa Police detained two accused persons on the spot and registered a case of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). Investigations are underway to determine further details.
A video from the scene shows severe damage to Jadhav’s car, with airbags deployed and visible dents on the driver’s side. Notably, it was his personal car and not an official police vehicle.
Jadhav, recently appointed as Pune’s Traffic DCP in July, escaped the crash unhurt.
