Pune, August 16, 2025: Pranjal Khewalkar, son-in-law of senior NCP (SP) leader and former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse, has been booked in a fresh case for allegedly filming and photographing a woman in a compromising position without her consent.

The FIR was registered at Pune’s cyber police station under Section 66E of the Information Technology Act and Section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, both related to privacy violations and digital exploitation.

According to police officials, Khewalkar was in a relationship with the complainant, who alleged she was filmed under duress. The case adds to his ongoing legal troubles, as he was earlier arrested on July 27 along with six others during a police raid on an alleged rave party in Kharadi, where drugs, liquor and mobile phones were seized. He remains in judicial custody.

The development comes amid serious allegations made by Maharashtra State Commission for Women chairperson Rupali Chakankar, who has claimed Khewalkar is linked to a larger human trafficking racket. She stated that police recovered objectionable photos and videos from his devices, suggesting organised exploitation of women, particularly migrant workers.

Chakankar alleged that women were lured to Pune with job offers, drugged, filmed, and later blackmailed. She further claimed the network had links across Lonavala, Jalgaon, Mumbai, and Goa.

While Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed a detailed report was shared with the commission, Khadse dismissed the claims, stating that Chakankar was making politically motivated remarks and that only the police should provide updates on the case.
