Pune – The documentary “Couple for the Environment”, produced by EMMRC, Savitribai Phule Pune University, has been awarded the Best Educational Programme in the Government Organization Category by NCERT at an awards ceremony held in Shillong, Meghalaya. 

The documentary has been recognized for its exceptional contribution to environmental awareness and was honoured with this prestigious award.

“Couple for the Environment” is an awareness program focused on environmental conservation, effectively presenting how two individuals can work together for environmental awareness.

Ramesh Kharamale and his wife Swati have been working on water conservation and tree planting for many years. Since 2021, they have been creating water-conserving trenches on hilltops, which has helped millions of liters of rainwater seep into the ground. Their efforts have been recognized at multiple levels, and they have been honoured with several awards.

The documentary was directed by Milind Patil, with camera work by Ram Jadhav, graphics and animation by Amrita Ghode, and assistance from Fayaz Sheikh and Khandu Bhosale.
