Pune: Ex MLA Ravindra Dhangekar Quits Congress, Set To Join Shiv Sena Shinde Faction
Pune: Former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has officially resigned from Congress, ending weeks of speculation about his discontent with the party. At a press conference in Pune, Dhangekar announced his decision, describing it as a difficult but necessary step.
Having worked with Congress for over a decade, Dhangekar expressed his emotional connection with the party and its members. However, he cited the inability to serve his constituents effectively without being in power as the primary reason for his departure. He revealed that he had multiple discussions with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Minister Uday Samant before making his decision.
Dhangekar also hinted at joining Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), stating that his discussions with Eknath Shinde have been positive. He praised Shinde’s leadership and his commitment to resolving constituency issues. A final decision is expected after his meeting with Shinde later in the evening.
