Pune, October 6, 2025: The Department of Agriculture has appealed to farmers cultivating banana, sweet lime, papaya, orange, mango, and pomegranate to participate in the Revised Weather-Based Fruit Crop Insurance Scheme for the Ambiya Bahar 2025–26 season. Eligible farmers must submit their applications within the prescribed deadlines through the national fruit crop insurance portal at https://www.pmfby.gov.in, said Deputy Director of Agriculture Dattatraya Gawasane.

The scheme is being implemented by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd., Pune, in the Pune, Solapur, and Ahilyanagar districts. The final dates for enrollment are as follows:

  • Grapes – October 15
  • Banana, Sweet Lime, Papaya – October 31
  • Orange – November 30
  • Mango – December 31
  • Pomegranate – January 14, 2026

The scheme is optional for both loanee and non-loanee farmers. However, loanee farmers must submit a declaration stating whether they wish to participate.

To enroll, farmers must have a productive fruit orchard ranging from at least 20 gunthas to a maximum of 4 hectares per farmer. Required documents include Agristack registration, Aadhaar card, bank account details, land ownership proof, geotagged orchard photograph, registered lease agreement (for tenant farmers), and e-crop inspection.
