Pune – On November 6, 2024, around 4 p.m., the Fire Department’s control room received a report of a child trapped on the second-floor balcony of Anant Apartment in Warje, after the balcony door accidentally locked. A fire truck from Warje Fire Station was dispatched immediately.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the young child trapped on the second floor due to the sudden locking of the door, while the child’s parents stood nearby in a distressed state. Reassuring the parents, the team quickly set up a ladder, gained access to the balcony, and used a bolt cutter to open the grill. The firefighters then safely handed the child over to the parents. All the building residents and the child’s family expressed their gratitude for the firefighters’ prompt actions.

The operation was carried out by driver Sagar Sonawane, officer Shivdas Khutwad, and firemen Sanjay Chaure, Manoj Gaikwad, and Vikas Owhal from Warje Fire Station.
