Today (4th March), the Pune Forest Department is going to hold public discussion regarding various illicit activities such as alcohol consumption etc, happening on several Pune tekdis (hills), forest areas and more, & stopping/preventing such activities from happening.

As per further information from Pune Forest Department, it has been brought to the notice of the forest department, through various media, that some youngsters have recently been found intoxicating on the hills under the jurisdiction of the Forest Department. Also, many times, empty liquor bottles are found while inspecting the works on the hills. Such things, found on the hills, are also frequently becoming a cause of fires.

Many people come for a walk on the hills under the forest department but it is noticed that some people bring their pets along with them about which written/verbal complaints are received. Hence, it is essential to keep control of all the above aspects.

Accordingly, to suggest solutions & plans and discuss this further, the Pune Forest Department has invited social service organizations, responsible citizens at MAFCO Forest Park, Bhamburda, Gokhalenagar, Pune – 16, for discussion on 4/3/2024 at 5 pm.
