Pune, October 2, 2025: The 14th edition of ‘Gandhi Week’ was inaugurated at Gandhi Bhavan, Kothrud, by former Supreme Court judge Abhay Oka. Organized by Maharashtra Gandhi Smarak Nidhi and Yuvak Kranti Dal, the event runs from October 1 to 8, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and International Day of Non-Violence.

Speaking at the inauguration, Justice Oka emphasized that adopting a scientific temper is essential in the 21st century. “Scientific thinking is not anti-religion. Just as religions have evolved with time, society too must embrace rationality for human welfare and sustainable living,” he said.

He highlighted constitutional duties, freedom of expression, and the importance of respecting diverse opinions in a democracy.
