Pune: Gangster Vandalises And Creates Chaos At Sahakarnagar Police Station, Injures Cops With Pepper Spray
Pune, July 19, 2025: A notorious criminal from Taljai Vasahat unleashed violence inside Sahakarnagar Police Station late Thursday night after being brought in for questioning in a molestation case. The accused, identified as Rishikesh alias Barkya Londhe, went on a rampage, vandalising property and injuring police personnel with pepper spray.
Police officials said Londhe was picked up for investigation following a complaint filed by a woman. While he appeared calm during the journey to the station, his behaviour turned violent upon arrival. Despite being handcuffed, he damaged furniture, shattered glass panes, and destroyed computers in the station.
In a shocking escalation, Londhe reportedly pulled out a pepper spray canister concealed in his clothes and sprayed it on nearby officers. Five policemen experienced breathing difficulties and were rushed to Sassoon Hospital for treatment.
The situation quickly spiralled out of control, prompting the station to call for reinforcements. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with officers caught off-guard by the sudden outburst.
According to police, Londhe and his brother Jitendra were allegedly under the influence of alcohol and had resisted arrest earlier, even using chili spray on the officers, resulting in a scuffle that left two policemen injured. Both brothers were eventually subdued and taken into custody.
Senior Police Inspector Rahul Gaud confirmed that Londhe remained aggressive even after his arrest. “We are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the exact sequence of events,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Milind Mohite stated, “An assault inside a police station is a serious offence. We are taking strict action against those involved.”
Rishikesh Londhe is currently under treatment for injuries at Sassoon Hospital, along with the five affected policemen.
