Pune: Gen Dr VK Singh Pays Tribute At NDA's Hut of Remembrance During 148th Passing Out Parade
The Hut of Remembrance (HOR) is the sanctum sanctorum of the National Defence Academy. It was built by the voluntary efforts (shramadan) of Cadets of the 10th to 17th Courses to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Indian Soldiers during the Second World War and the post – independence operations in Jammu and Kashmir. Later, it also became a living memorial for the ex – NDA Officers who made the supreme sacrifice during various combat operations. The memory of the Cadets who died as trainees at NDA is also enshrined here.
In a solemn ceremony, Gen (Dr) VK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, (Retd) Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, the Reviewing Officer visited the Hut of Remembrance and paid homage to the brave hearts on the occasion of Passing Out Parade of 148th Course, the HOR serves as a constant reminder to NDA Cadets of the lofty traditions of valour, courage and sacrifice set by their predecessors.
