Pune: Hinjawadi Commuters to Benefit from New Bridge Connecting Mamurdi & Sangavade
Pune, January 29, 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has approved the construction of a new bridge over the Pavana River, connecting Mamurdi and Sangavade. The project, sanctioned by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, comes with a budget of ₹36.66 crore and is expected to be completed within 12 months.
The new bridge will replace the existing iron structure, which has deteriorated over time and poses safety risks. Local residents have long demanded an improved connection between Mamurdi, Sangavade, and Hinjawadi to facilitate smoother and safer transportation.
The project’s total approved cost of ₹36.66 crore is slightly lower than the original tender amount of ₹37.25 crore. The tender, issued on September 4, 2024, received bids from four contractors. After evaluation, the contract was awarded to a joint venture between A.R. Construction and T&T Infra Limited, which submitted the lowest bid.
Designed to accommodate all types of vehicles, the new bridge is expected to enhance traffic flow and significantly improve connectivity in the region. This infrastructure development marks a crucial step toward addressing the long-standing transportation challenges faced by residents and commuters in the Hinjawadi area.
