Pune, September 16, 2025: A major development has emerged from Pune, where the Income Tax Department carried out surprise raids on the offices and residences of well-known real estate developers.

The raids were conducted at the ICC Towers office of Kohinoor Group chief Krishnakumar Goyal on Senapati Bapat Road, as well as his residence in Sindh Society. Simultaneously, action was also taken at the Bund Garden office of Mittal Group.

Although the exact reason behind the action has not yet been disclosed, the sudden move has sparked widespread discussions across the city. Officials stated that details will emerge only after further investigation.

Interestingly, the Mittal Brothers Group had previously been under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Honest Shelters LLP project in Mumbai. The recent Income Tax action is reportedly linked to directives from the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA).

Earlier, MahaRERA had ordered Honest Shelters Pvt Ltd, promoter of the Palace Royale project in Worli, to refund nearly ₹90 crore for failing to hand over flats on time. The penalty was imposed after the company failed to comply with earlier directives regarding possession delays.
