Pune: Due to an increase in supply, the prices of onions, capsicum, and groundnut have decreased in the wholesale market. However, other vegetable prices have remained stable, according to traders.

On Sunday, around 100 trucks of vegetables arrived at the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard from various states, including Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh. The market received seven to eight tempos of green chilies, four to five tempos of cabbage, three to four tempos of cluster beans, and several other vegetable consignments from different regions.

From the Pune division alone, significant quantities of vegetables were supplied, including 500-600 sacks of Satari onions, 7-8 tempos of ladyfinger, 9,000-10,000 crates of tomatoes, 125-150 trucks of onions, and 40 tempos of potatoes from Indore, local areas, and other regions.

While leafy vegetables like dill, spring onions, and amaranth saw a price increase, mint prices dropped. Coriander, fenugreek, spinach, and other greens maintained stable prices.

In the fruit market, the prices of oranges, papayas, and lemons increased, whereas muskmelons and guavas became cheaper. Pineapple, watermelon, and mosambi remained steady in pricing. On Sunday, the market received 30-40 tons of mosambi, 40-50 tons of oranges, 20-25 tons of pomegranates, and 70-80 tempos of watermelon.

Traders expect price fluctuations to continue based on supply trends in the coming days.
