Devotees visiting the sacred Khandoba Fort in Jejuri will no longer be allowed entry if they wear revealing or inappropriate clothing. The Shri Martand Devsansthan Committee has implemented this rule for both men and women, effective immediately.

Several temples across Maharashtra have already introduced dress codes, and now Khandoba Fort in Jejuri has followed suit. The shrine holds immense religious significance, attracting thousands of devotees daily and hosting seven major annual fairs, drawing three to four lakh pilgrims each year.

To uphold the sanctity of the temple, the Shri Martand Devsansthan has installed notice boards informing visitors of the new dress code. Present at the announcement were Chief Trustee Abhijit Devkate, Trustees Adv. Pandurang Thorve, Rajendra Khedekar, and other officials.

Given the increasing number of visitors, especially newlywed couples from across the state who visit for traditional rituals, the temple administration has urged devotees to dress modestly, similar to how they would for religious ceremonies at home.

The dress code applies to both men and women, prohibiting knee-length or shorter clothing such as short skirts, shorts, ripped jeans, and Bermuda shorts. While the temple is currently appealing to devotees to follow the guidelines voluntarily, authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
