Pune: Jewellery Shop Robbed at Gunpoint in Mohammadwadi
Kondhwa, 18th May 2024: In a brazen daylight robbery, a jewellery shop in Mohammadwadi was targeted by armed assailants. The incident occurred around noon at BGS Jewelers in the Wadkar Mala locality, where the robbers, disguised as customers, held the owner and employees at gunpoint and stole valuable ornaments.
The robbers threatened the shop’s staff with weapons, demanding the jewellery and warning of lethal consequences if they resisted. The entire incident was recorded by the shop’s CCTV cameras.
Police officials arrived promptly at the scene to oversee the investigation. Initial findings indicate the robbers fled on two-wheelers. In response, police established checkpoints and cordoned off the Hadapsar, Wanowrie, and Kondhwa areas to inspect vehicles.
CCTV footage shows the robbers with their faces covered by handkerchiefs, complicating identification efforts. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their search for the suspects.
