Pune, August 5, 2025: In a heartfelt and symbolic gesture, the residents of Kalyani Nagar came together today to felicitate Yerwada Police Station’s Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke and Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil for their prompt and consistent response to public grievances. The event was held on Monday, August 4 at 12:30 PM.
Residents especially praised the swift action taken by the police team through the helpline number 112, where the average response time has been observed to be around 15 minutes. Over the past several months, the Yerwada police have actively addressed local concerns such as noise pollution and other civic issues, resulting in noticeable improvement in coordination and enforcement.

As a mark of trust and gratitude, community members tied Rakhis to the police personnel, symbolizing the spirit of protection and solidarity. The initiative was not just a felicitation but a reaffirmation of the growing bond between the residents and the law enforcement team.
“This felicitation was a heartfelt gesture to thank the Yerwada police team that has stood by us, day and night. Their prompt and consistent response on helpline 112—often within just 15 minutes—has truly made us feel heard, safe, and cared for. From addressing noise complaints to resolving safety issues, their professionalism and empathy have stood out. The act of tying Rakhis to the officers Senior PI Ravindra Shelke sir and API Dinesh Patil sir beautifully symbolized the trust, respect, and bond we now share. We hope to continue nurturing this strong, collaborative relationship between the residents and our dedicated police force,” said Monica Sharma, a Kalyani Nagar resident.
“We have been facing the problem of pubs, bars and restaurants operating in unauthorised and illegal ways. But whenever the situation becomes unbearable and we have called the police, they’re the only department which has been most prompt and helped us. We truly appreciate their support and help,” said Suhas Harshe, another resident.
“We wanted to show our appreciation to the entire police department and specifically to our Senior PI Shelke Sir and API Dinesh Patil Sir (Yerwada Police Station), who have been actively involved in curbing law and order issues in Kalyani Nagar. We tied Rakhi to them on this Raksha Bandhan as a gesture of our gratitude and appreciation for the protection and support we have always got from them. We are very thankful for the support we continue to get, and it is our commitment to build a positive community-police relationship,” stated Yasmin Charania, a resident who has been actively voicing various issues.
“The police department has always stood by us in times when we have not got support from any other department. This was our way to show our appreciation to the Yerwada Police Department and our commitment to continue to work closely with them in the future,” informed Munir Vastani, another local resident.
The event not only highlighted the dedication of the Yerwada police but also demonstrated the power of community engagement and mutual respect in maintaining law and order.
