Pune: Kalyaninagar Resto-Bar Booked for Playing Loud Music, Serving Customers Beyond Midnight
Pune, October 3, 2025: The Yerawada police have registered a case against the manager of a restaurant and bar in Kalyaninagar after residents complained about loud music being played past 12.30am on Tuesday.
When the night patrol team arrived, the resto-bar was also found serving food and liquor to 12 customers beyond the permissible deadline. Police booked the establishment’s owner under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 223 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) and 293 (continuance of a public nuisance).
A notice was issued to the manager, directing cooperation with the investigation.
Residents said noise from pubs and bars in Kalyaninagar has been a persistent issue. A senior citizen from a nearby society stated that vibrations and noise often continue till 1.30am, despite repeated complaints. Citizens also raised concerns about food stalls that crop up late at night, adding to traffic and parking chaos.
Following the 2024 Porsche crash in Kalyaninagar that killed two techies, Pune police had enforced strict measures against late-night operations. As per current regulations, establishments can serve food and liquor only until 12.30am and play music indoors until midnight, while outdoor music must stop by 10pm.
Despite most pubs following the rules, residents claim that a few continue to disturb the neighbourhood, forcing them to approach the police repeatedly.
