Pune: KavitaKAFE Hosts Hindi Poetry Session At Poona Blind School”
Pune, August 20, 2025: In a heartwarming celebration of words, rhythm, and spirit, Pune-based poetry collective KavitaKAFE, under its social initiative Healing Verses, hosted a special Hindi poetry session at the Poona School for the Blind, Koregaon Park, on August 16.
In the past, KavitaKAFE has also taken poetry beyond conventional spaces by organizing similar charity-driven events at institutions such as QMTI (Queen Mary’s Technical Institute), Vrindavan Old-Age Home, Aaji Care, and Cipla Palliative Care, carrying the healing power of verse to diverse audiences.

The August 16th event witnessed an inspiring confluence of city-based poets and visually-challenged students, who together created an atmosphere filled with confidence, creativity, and joy. Emerging poets Gayatri and Anjali Chimurkar took the stage alongside Garima Mishra, the founder of KavitaKAFE, who recited an excerpt from Rashmirathi, the celebrated mahakavya by Hindi stalwart Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. The chosen verses – a poetic dialogue between Lord Krishna and Karna – struck a deep chord with the audience, especially as the occasion coincided with Gokulashtami.
A highlight of the evening was the spirited recitations by students Pratik Dahifale, Rameshwar Karad, Shlok Mahadik, Anand Ranakshetre, Sanket Dahibhate, Utkarsh Mohite, Shreeshailam Khedkar, Kunal Nimbalkar, Aniket Kharate, and Rishikesh Kause, whose confident performances reflected both their passion and talent. Their presence infused the program with energy and authenticity, earning heartfelt applause from the audience.
Adding further richness to the session, teacher Rangnath Gajare shared a poem from his collection Andhaarwat, which offers motivation to people with physical challenges. Gajare, who is also a writer-poet and lyricist for Marathi films, brought an inspiring note to the program.

The event concluded on a sweet note, with Novotel Pune extending its support by sponsoring snacks for all students. The refreshments, distributed by Novotel employees, added a touch of warmth and camaraderie, making the day memorable for everyone present.
Through this initiative, KavitaKAFE once again proved that poetry is not just about words, but about healing, inclusivity, and the power of expression that transcends barriers.
