Pune: Land Acquisition Roadblock At Sinhagad Road Junction: MP Supriya Sule Calls For Quick Action
Pune, July 10, 2025: Baramati MP Supriya Sule recently inspected the ongoing construction work of a bridge on the Pune highway in Warje, which falls under her Lok Sabha constituency. During the site visit, it was observed that due to changes in the highway layout, additional land needs to be acquired at the Sinhagad Road junction to facilitate the project’s progress.
However, the required land parcel belongs to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), creating a procedural hurdle for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The MP urged municipal authorities to expedite discussions with NHAI officials and arrive at an early resolution to prevent further delays.
In response, PMC Commissioner assured that a meeting would be convened on the same day to address the issue, giving a positive signal to move the project forward.
The site visit and review were attended by key leaders and officials, including Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) Khadakwasla Rural President Trimbak Mokashi, former corporators Sachin Dodke, Santosh Chakankar, and Kishor Kamble, former Zilla Parishad member Anita Ingle, and other party workers. Officials from NHAI were also present at the inspection.
The bridge work is considered crucial for improving connectivity and easing traffic congestion in Warje and surrounding areas. With the PMC’s support and early intervention, stakeholders are hopeful that the project will regain momentum and benefit commuters in the region.
