Pune Law Student Found Dead In Fergusson College Hostel; Reason Unknown
Pune, May 2, 2025: A first-year law student from Navalmal Firodia Law College (NFLC) was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his room at Fergusson College Hostel on Thursday morning, sparking concern over rising academic stress among students. The deceased, identified as Bhushan Domane.
According to the principal, Dr Sunita Jadhav, principal, Navalmal Firodiya Law College, the student was bright in academics and never under pressure of studies.
The college will carry out an enquiry to find out the cause of the incident. Today, when his friends knocked on the door, they found him in an unfortunate condition with medicine pills around. They alarmed the authorities and further action was initiated.
Hostel staff later forced open the door and found him unconscious. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Sources said Bhushan had appeared increasingly withdrawn in recent months and kept himself isolated. Dr. Sunita Adhav expressed grief and assured a thorough internal inquiry.
