Pune: Lohgaon's Incomplete DP Road Work To Resume Soon, Assures MLA Bapusaheb Pathare
Pune, July 14, 2025: The long-pending development plan (DP) road work on Bharatmata Road in Lohgaon is expected to gain momentum soon. Wadgaon Sheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare announced that the road marking process will be completed within the coming week to pave the way for further construction.
Residents in the area have been facing immense hardships due to large potholes and untreated sewage flowing onto the road. Work on several stretches has stalled for years owing to delays in land acquisition, and many local landowners are yet to receive compensation. Frustrated over the lack of progress and civic amenities, residents of Lohgaon staged a protest last week against the municipal corporation.
In response, MLA Pathare visited the DP road on Sunday along with municipal officials to inspect the condition of waterlogged patches and sewage accumulation. He also interacted with local landowners and instructed the civic team to immediately fill the potholes with mud to provide temporary relief.
“The DP road work in Lohgaon-Dhanori has been delayed for several years. I have directed the municipal corporation to expedite the road marking process and initiate dialogue with landowners to push the project forward,” Pathare said.
Municipal officials assured that once the boundaries for the road are finalized, the entire project will be taken up systematically and completed in a planned manner.
