Pune – On May 22, 2024, at 9:30 AM, the Fire Brigade Control Room received a report of a man stuck in a tree and in need of assistance. Upon receiving the request, three vehicles, including a fire engine from Kondhwa Khurd, a rescue van from the headquarters, and a Bronto vehicle with a tall ladder, were dispatched.

Upon arriving at the scene, the firefighters observed a man trapped approximately thirty to thirty-five feet high in a tall tree, calling for help. They immediately set up a ladder and climbed the tree. The man, identified as Rama Pawar (age 28, resident of Wanwadi), was found to be extremely frightened. The firefighters reassured him by saying, “We are here, don’t worry.” They used a tree pruner to clear the surrounding branches and, with the help of ropes, safely brought him down in about fifteen minutes. Rama Pawar and the locals expressed their gratitude to the firefighters. Due to minor injuries and the state of fear, Rama Pawar was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. It was understood that he had climbed the tree to prune the branches.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sameer Shaikh, fire officer from Kondhwa Budruk fire station, said that the man got trapped on the tree while pruning it. He was a contractual labourer hired by the society to prune the tree. When he couldnt climb down the society sought help from us. He suffered an injury on his leg and has been sent to a private hospital for further medical assistance.
