Pune: Missing 21-Year-Old Woman from Sangvi Found Dead Near Lohagad
Pune, 20th March 2025: Manasi Prashant Govindpurkar (21), a resident of Sangvi who had been missing since March 18, was found dead near the Navagraha Temple at the base of Lohagad Fort on Wednesday morning.
Manasi had traveled alone to Lohagad Fort, booking a private taxi to reach the destination. CCTV footage last captured her near the ticket office at 8:56 AM, but there was no record of her returning. Pimpri Chinchwad police, after tracing the taxi driver, confirmed that he had dropped her off at the fort and that she was alone.
Since morning, her relatives and police teams had been searching the area. A call from the Shivdurg rescue team led to the discovery of her body in the bushes near the Navagraha Temple. The rescue team retrieved the body and handed it over to her family and the police.
The cause of death remains unclear. Authorities are investigating whether it was an accident or if foul play was involved.
