Pune: MNS Workers Booked For Obstructing Government Work, Threatening PMC Officials
Pune, August 7, 2025: A case has been registered against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) office-bearers and workers for obstructing government work and threatening civic officials during a protest inside the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) premises.
The accused allegedly entered the PMC general body hall without permission, manhandled security guards, and threatened Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and Additional Commissioner Prithviraj B.P. with remarks such as, “We will not let you stay in Maharashtra.” They disrupted official proceedings during the incident.
After being escorted out of the hall, some of the MNS members reportedly climbed over the main gate of the civic building and forced entry again, shouting slogans against the commissioner.
Following this incident, a case was registered at the Shivajinagar Police Station based on a complaint filed by Amol Shivaji Pawar (35). The FIR names MNS members Kishor Shinde, Prashant Mate, Narendra Tamboli, Avinash Jadhav, Mahesh Lad, and others.
They have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including Section 132 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty) and Section 189(2) (threat of injury to public servant), along with provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act.
