Pune, September 17, 2025 – In the recently held National Lok Adalat, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) successfully resolved 1,057 cases, securing a recovery of ₹2.18 crore. The settled cases included both pending and newly filed matters.

MSEDCL has consistently pursued recovery of dues from permanently disconnected and defaulting consumers. While recovery drives are carried out periodically, unresolved cases are also presented before the Lok Adalat for settlement.

Under the guidance of Chief Engineer Sunil Kakade, around 51,317 consumers with outstanding dues from the Ganeshkhind, Rastapeth, and Pune Rural divisions were listed before the Lok Adalat held in Pune on September 13. Notices were issued to all complainants, and 83 electricity theft cases were also placed before the bench.

Out of the 51,317 matters, 1,053 were resolved with recoveries totaling ₹2.14 crore. Pune Rural accounted for the highest recovery with ₹1.03 crore from 10 consumers, followed by ₹96.97 lakh from the Rastapeth division and ₹17.84 lakh from Ganeshkhind. Additionally, 4 out of 83 electricity theft cases were settled, yielding ₹4.08 lakh.

The proceedings were coordinated with efforts from in-charge legal advisor Dinkar Tidke, junior legal officers Nital Hase, Anjali Chougule, and Imran Shaikh.
