Pune: Multiple vehicle accident at Ved Bhavan in Kothrud, Bus Driver Severely InjuredÂ
Pune, June 16, 2025: A serious accident was reported at around 5:10 AM on the bridge near Ved Bhavan in Kothrud. The Fire Brigade Control Room was alerted for emergency services, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade units from NDA, Warje, and a rescue van from the Central Fire Brigade.
About 4 to 5 vehicles have been hit in this accident including a bus.
Fire brigade official Sachin Shinde told Pune Pulse that upon reaching the scene, rescue personnel found the bus driver, identified as Uttam Kopare (approximately 50 years old), severely trapped inside the vehicle. Both of his legs were stuck between the dashboard and brake, while his chest was pinned against the steering wheel.
Shinde further said that using specialized rescue equipment including crowbars and cutters, the emergency team successfully freed the injured driver. He was immediately transported to a hospital via ambulance for further treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Further details are awaited in the incident.
