Pune Municipal Corporation Gets ₹842.85 Crore Funds Approved For Sewage Treatment Project Under AMRUT 2.0
Pune, September 23, 2025 – The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) sewage treatment project has received administrative approval with a sanctioned cost of ₹842.85 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the AMRUT 2.0 mission, has initiated sewage management projects across 44 cities in Maharashtra, with Pune being one of the key beneficiaries.
Out of the total project cost, ₹252.86 crore will be provided by the central government, while ₹210.71 crore will be contributed by the state government.

Pune Municipal Corporation will bear ₹20.49 crore, and the remaining funds will be mobilized through private partnerships.
Officials stated that the project will provide major relief to Pune residents by strengthening the city’s sewage management system and improving urban sanitation infrastructure.
