Pune: New One-Way Rule Causes Traffic Chaos in Keshav Nagar
A recently implemented one-way rule near Renuka Mata Mandir, in front of the Unique Legacy society in Keshav Nagar, has led to unexpected traffic snarls and commuter frustration. Residents and regular commuters are voicing concerns over the sudden change in traffic flow, which has transformed previously calm roads into heavily congested zones.
According to locals, the area that would normally remain traffic-free during most hours of the day now experiences continuous jams, especially during morning and evening peak times. The stretch near Renuka Mata Mandir has become a major chokepoint, with vehicles struggling to navigate the narrow roadways that were never designed to handle such redirected volumes.
“The road near Unique Legacy used to be peaceful, even during peak hours. Ever since the new one-way was enforced, the entire route is jam-packed. It feels like the problem was created, not solved,” said a resident.
Many believe that the new traffic arrangement was implemented without proper ground-level assessment or public consultation. Residents are now demanding that traffic authorities reconsider the one-way rule and explore alternatives that ease, rather than worsen, the area’s traffic issues.
