Pimpri: A shocking incident unfolded at Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station on Monday evening (February 24), where a 21-year-old student attempted suicide by jumping from the station premises. The student, identified as Sujal Sunil Mankar, is a third-year BCS student at a college in Akurdi.
The incident occurred around 6:30 PM, drawing immediate attention from bystanders and metro authorities. Sujal sustained severe injuries and was promptly rushed to YCM Hospital in Pimpri for urgent medical care. His condition remains critical, and doctors are closely monitoring his health.
Senior Police Inspector Ashok Kadlag stated that preliminary investigations suggest financial difficulties at home might have driven Sujal to take this extreme step. His family and close friends were questioned to gather more details regarding his mental state and any underlying issues.
