Meeting on August 9, 2024, a meeting of District Industry Center and Federation of Chakan Industries was held as per the instructions of Pune Collector. In this meeting Vrishali Sone General Manager District Industries Center Pune, Shiva Rathod Area Manager MIDC, Sarang Sable MIDC, Milind Barbhai Executive Engineer Public Works Department Pune North Division, Senior Police Inspector Traffic  Pradeep Patil, SR Joshi Deputy Engineer NHAI, Dilip Batwal, Secretary, Federation of Chakan Industries were present as well as representatives of many industries like Sarang Joshi, Vijaysinh Rajput of BOSS, Gunjan Khalane of Bajaj, Prakash Dhongde of Hyundai, Ajay Ropalekar of ARAI, Tushar Pawar of tenacco etc. were present. 

In this meeting, further hurdles in the industrial estate were discussed.

1) Ajay Ropalekar of ARAI Company said that the village panchayat near ARAI and Eremond Company is dumping waste in open spaces. Due to this, unsanitary conditions have arisen in this area and public health problem has arisen. Leave immediately.

2) In Chakan area, encroachment on the road has taken place on a large scale and it is causing traffic jams and accidents at many places. It is necessary to remove the encroachments immediately. The representatives of the police department said that the work of removing the said encroachment is going on at a war level. Dilip Batwal, Secretary of Federation of Chakan Industry at that time Requested that the encroachment areas should be asphalted immediately so that there is no encroachment again and the roads will also be widened At that time the PWD officials said that we are going to asphalt these roads immediately.

3) There are huge potholes on the roads in the area of Chakan and the roads under the limits of MIDC, NHAI and PWD and these roads are no longer suitable for vehicles, so it is necessary to fill the above potholes on these roads immediately. PWD, NHAI etc MIDC representatives assured that all potholes will be filled in next ten-twelve days.

4) A separate corridor has been created for BRT on the roads of Pune, which does not allow access to private vehicles, so to reduce the massive traffic jams on the roads, representatives of the companies said that during the start and end of the shifts of the companies, the BRT Mrs. Vrishali Sone said that she would talk to the officials of PMPL and the officials of the Municipal Corporation on this matter and find a way out on whether the company’s buses should be given permission.

5) At this time, the representatives of many companies said that large vehicles are illegally parked on both sides of the road, so traffic jams and accidents are increasing, for which it is necessary to take action against these vehicles. At that time, Traffic PI Mr. Pradeep Patil said that on the said vehicles Action will be taken and at the same time the officials of MIDC were also told that the truck terminal should be started in MIDC immediately. At that time the Secretary of Federation of Chakan Industry Dilip Batwal said that the truck terminal of Chakan has been started and now these trucks The terminal is being used to its full capacity and a large number of vehicles are parked in it now but there is no space left for vehicles to pass so MIDC should increase the capacity of this truck terminal so that maximum number of vehicles can be parked in it. MIDC officials said that we will immediately try to increase the terminal area and increase the capacity of this truck terminal.

6) At this time, the representatives of the companies said that the road in MIDC phase two is crowded with vehicles and in order to reduce the load on this road, GE company should double the road connecting Chakan Talegaon road from NDRF and Sadumbare village by doing road work. As a result, at least 25 percent of the traffic on the road in MIDC phase two will shift to this road and traffic jams will be reduced. At that time Madam Sone of the District Industry Center said that in the upcoming zoom meeting the officials of the concerned department will be called and instructed to take appropriate action.

7) The representatives of the companies said that many problems have arisen in the power supply of MSCDCL and due to many times power failure, dips, power fluctuations etc., the companies are losing their goods and machines on a large scale and also affecting the production. Dilip Batwal of the Federation said that in order to get uninterrupted power supply to the companies in this area, we will soon have a meeting with the Divisional Director of this department Mr. Kharade Saheb and a permanent solution will be taken.

8) The representatives present in this meeting requested that the traffic jam is increasing day by day and for the solution plan to start metro to Chakan, Dilip Batwal said that Nashik Phata to Chakan is a metro sanction and Nigdi to Chakan MIDC. DPR of Huntsman Chowk metro is in progress.

9) Some of the members present said that many industrial workers travel to Chakan from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad for work, which also leads to massive traffic jams. To remedy this, if there are excellent housing societies, schools, colleges, recreation centers, malls, water etc. in Chakan, these employees will stay in Chakan. This will reduce the load on the traffic. On this, Dilip Batwal said that the Federation of Chakan Industries has corresponded with the concerned departments that such centers should be set up near Chakan in the ring road so that the employees can live in such places and the culture of walk to work can be brought to Chakan. The government hopes to start this in Chakan soon.

10) The present company representatives pointed out that the existing road in Chakan is depleting and heavy vehicular load is coming on it. This causes traffic jams. If the following connecting road is constructed to reduce this traffic jam then exist By reducing the load on existing roads, it will help to reduce traffic jams. Nanekar Wadi to Bosh Company, Chakan MIDC Phase Three to Nighoje via Chikhli, Ambethan to Mahalunge, Kalawadi to WMDC, Pune Nashik Highway and Talegaon Chakan Road to reduce traffic congestion from Shiroli via Kiwale to Koregaon Phata, a road should be made from Dhamane village to Karanj Vihar via Kiwale Kore Road, the road from Waki outside Chakan to Ambethan should also be constructed via Koregaon Vasuli to Talegaon. Additionally, a new road should be constructed from Talwade IT Park bridge to Marriott Hotel to reduce traffic in MIDC. At that time, GM of DSE Mrs. Sone madam said that efforts will be made to prepare all these roads by calling the relevant departments in the coming meeting.
