Pune News: Fire Destroys Four Shops, Two Injured In Pimpri-Chinchwad's Nehru Nagar Blaze
A major fire erupted at Zero Boys Chowk in Nehru Nagar, Pimpri-Chinchwad, around 4:50 PM on Wednesday, causing extensive damage to a mattress manufacturing unit and a furniture shop. Two individuals, who were inside the building above the affected shops, sustained minor injuries and were promptly shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital for medical attention.
Initial reports suggest that a short circuit might have triggered the blaze. Firefighters rushed to the scene with two fire engines to contain the situation. Concerns arose about potential entrapment, but all individuals were safely evacuated.
As the fire spread rapidly, additional reinforcements arrived, with a total of nine fire tenders deployed to douse the flames. Firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour before bringing it under control. Four shops were completely gutted, and the building above them suffered structural damage.
Authorities are now conducting a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and assess the financial losses incurred.
