Pune News: Hadapsar Railway Station Set To Get PMPML Bus Terminal
Taking a significant step towards enhancing Pune’s public transport experience, PMPML has proposed the development of a bus terminal and parking facility at Hadapsar Railway Station to improve connectivity between the station and key parts of the city.
On July 8, 2025, PMPML Chairperson and Managing Director Mrs. Deepa Mudhol-Munde (IAS) personally inspected the proposed site for the bus terminal and parking area at Hadapsar Railway Station. The inspection aimed to facilitate plans for PMPML bus services that would connect the upcoming railway terminal to major city destinations, providing seamless and efficient connectivity for commuters.
The railway administration is planning to develop a terminal at Hadapsar Railway Station, and PMPML has officially requested space for its bus terminal and parking within the proposed development. This integration is expected to enable railway passengers to easily access PMPML bus services across the city.
Currently, Shuttle Bus Route No. 156 operates between Hadapsar Gadital and Hadapsar Railway Station. Additionally, Bus Routes 160, 168, and 169 have designated stops near the railway station, allowing passengers to reach the station within minutes. However, challenges such as narrow roads have caused difficulties for the shuttle service, and efforts are underway in coordination with the railway administration to address these issues.
The site inspection was attended by PMPML’s Chief Transport Manager (Operations) Satish Gawhane, Hadapsar Depot Manager Sameer Atar, Railway Administration Chief Project Manager Sanjay Lohatre, Senior Official Saxena, and Chief Booking Officer Sontakke.
“Our main goal is to provide better facilities for railway passengers and make PMPML’s bus service more efficient. Once the proposed space at Hadapsar Railway Station is approved, PMPML will operate direct bus services to major parts of Pune city, ensuring smooth integration between rail and bus transport,” said Deepa Mudhol-Munde, Chairperson and Managing Director, PMPML.
