Pune News: Hinjawadi IT Park To Get ‘Single Point Authority’ As CM Fadnavis Vows Fast-Track Solutions

Mumbai/Pimpri-Chinchwad, July 10, 2025: In a significant move to address the mounting civic and traffic woes at Maharashtra’s largest IT hub, Hinjewadi IT Park, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday assured the formation of a “Single Point Authority” to streamline coordination among multiple government agencies. The CM also announced that the Hinjewadi Metro service will begin by December 2025.
The assurance came during a marathon meeting at Vidhan Bhavan with representatives of the IT Forum and Society Federation, convened on the initiative of BJP MLA Mahesh Landge. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, senior government officials, and key stakeholders from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad were present.
The delegation highlighted persistent issues like traffic congestion, poor roads, and uncoordinated development plaguing the IT Park, which sees daily movement of over five lakh IT professionals. Representatives from Baner-Balewadi Resident Association, #UnclogHinjewadiITPark campaign, and Forum of IT Employees participated in the discussion.

Key instructions issued by CM Fadnavis include:
- Creation of a Single Point Authority for inter-departmental coordination.
- Acceleration of land acquisition for key Development Plan (DP) roads.
- Expedited road widening and underpass projects at Punawale, Tathawade, and Bhumkar Chowk.
- Completion of a six-lane bridge at Laxmi Chowk and parking facilities along Metro routes.
- Implementation of traffic control measures using advanced technologies.
Fadnavis assured that he would coordinate with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for National Highway connectivity and monitor progress personally to ensure “fast-track” execution.
“This is the first such high-level meeting for Hinjawadi IT Park’s problems, and it has set a clear roadmap for solutions,” said MLA Mahesh Landge.
