Pune News: Illegal Sex Racket Busted in Chandan Nagar Under the Guise of Massage Parlour, One Arrested
A sex racket operating under the pretext of a massage parlour in the Chandan Nagar area on Nagar Road was busted by the Crime Branch Unit 5. During the raid, police rescued five young women and arrested the parlour manager in connection with the case.
The arrested accused has been identified as Rahul Sunil Singh (24), a resident of Samarth Complex, Manjari. An FIR has also been registered against another suspect, Saibu Sheikh alias Saibu Mubarak Ali, a resident of Shriram Society, Chandan Nagar.
Police Havaldar Swati Tupe from Crime Branch Unit 5 lodged a complaint at Chandan Nagar Police Station following a tip-off. According to police sources, officers received credible information about a sex racket being operated under the guise of a massage parlour from a building in the Chandan Nagar area on April 3. A swift raid followed, and five women were taken into custody.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused Rahul and Saibu lured the women into the flesh trade by offering them money. Rahul has been arrested, while his accomplice has been booked under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act (PITA).
Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakne of Chandan Nagar Police Station is leading the investigation.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had earlier received several complaints about illicit activities being run under the banner of massage parlours across Pune city. He had issued strict directives to take action against such establishments. Last year, legal action was initiated against 35 massage parlour operators in the city and suburbs for similar offences.
