Pune News: Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi To Arrive In Pimpri Chinchwad On July 19
Pimpri, July 17, 2025: After seeking the blessings of Lord Vitthal on Ashadhi Ekadashi at Pandharpur, the palkhi (palanquin procession) of Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj has commenced its return journey and will arrive in Pimpri Chinchwad city on Saturday, July 19. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will formally welcome the palkhi near Mahatma Phule College Chowk in Pimpri.
Ahead of the arrival, PCMC Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil held a detailed review meeting with heads of various departments to ensure smooth arrangements.
The meeting was attended by City Engineers Devanna Gattuvar and Manik Chavan, Chief Garden Superintendent Mahesh Gargote, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, Regional Officers Nivedita Gharge, Tanaji Narlé, Atul Patil, Ajinkya Yele, Kishor Nanavare, Ashwini Gaikwad, Executive Engineers Sunil Pawar, Shivraj Wadkar, Abhiman Bhosale, Sunildutt Narote, Vijaysingh Bhosale, Hemant Desai, Mahesh Baride, Chandrakant Muthal, Dilip Bhosale, Ganesh Raut, Santosh Durge, Balu Lande, and Public Relations Officer Prafulla Puranik along with assistant health officers and officials from various departments.
The palkhi will halt at Bhairavnath Temple in Pimpri Gaon on Saturday night. Additional Commissioner Patil instructed officials to ensure cleanliness, power supply, medical aid centers, drinking water, sanitation facilities, traffic management, and road repairs along the palkhi route. Departments were also told to work in coordination for seamless planning.
On Sunday, July 20, the palkhi will proceed from Pimpri via Link Road and Bhatnagar to Chinchwadgaon, Chinchwad Station (first halt), KSB Chowk (second halt), Landewadi Chowk (afternoon halt), Bhosari, Alandi Road, Magazine Chowk, Thorlya Paduka (third halt), and will then reach Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Mandir in Alandi.
On Monday, July 21, the palkhi will travel from Alandi via Dehu Phata, Dudulgaon, Nageshwar Mandir Moshi, Chikhli, Talwade, and Vitthalwadi to finally reach the Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Mandir in Dehu.
PCMC has planned cleanliness drives along the route, drinking water facilities, mobile toilets, first aid centers, and ambulances. Temporary LED lights and CCTV systems will be installed along with coordinated traffic diversions in consultation with the police. Additional Commissioner Patil also instructed officials to coordinate with the trustees of Dehu Sansthan to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place.
