Pune News: Key Meeting On Hinjawadi Inclusion Into PCMC Set For July 10
Pune, July 9, 2025: A crucial high-level meeting will be held on Thursday, July 10, to discuss the inclusion of seven villages—Hinjewadi, Maan, Marunji, Nere, Jambe, Sangavade, and Gahunje—within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits. The meeting, chaired by Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, will review the long-pending demand of local residents for the merger and address key infrastructure challenges in the region.
Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap confirmed that the chief minister has directed the Urban Development Department to expedite the process. Deputy chief minister and urban development minister Eknath Shinde has also asked the department to submit a revised proposal at the earliest.
BJP MP and Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge emphasized the importance of the meeting, highlighting the pressing need for coordinated planning between multiple agencies, including MIDC, PMRDA, and NHAI. “Nearly five lakh IT professionals commute daily to Hinjewadi. This meeting should pave the way for a comprehensive action plan to upgrade infrastructure and streamline governance,” Landge said.
The July 10 meeting will be held at 2 pm at the State Legislature in Mumbai and is expected to be attended by senior officials from key departments, civic bodies, and representatives from IT forums and housing societies.
