Pune News: Khadakwasla Dam to Release 5,136 Cusecs of Water Today at 3 PM

Pune: PMC Rejects Water Dues, Disputes Irrigation Department’s Notice
PUNE, 28th July 2024: In response to heavy rainfall and rising water levels in the catchment area, the Khadakwasla Dam will begin discharging 5,136 cusecs of water from its spillway into the Mutha River basin today at 3 PM. This measure aims to manage the dam’s capacity and maintain safety in the surrounding regions.
The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has issued a warning that the discharge rate may be adjusted based on real-time rainfall and water inflow conditions. Residents and other stakeholders are advised to stay updated on any changes to the discharge rate.
Executive Engineer has highlighted the importance of safety during this period. Residents are urged to avoid entering the riverbed and to relocate any belongings, materials, or animals currently in the area to prevent potential damage or danger. Those living in low-lying areas should be promptly informed and take necessary precautions.
The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has called on all citizens to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines during this critical period.
