Pune News: La Melosa CHS Ltd From Wakad Powers Ahead With 76 kW Solar Rooftop Project
Pune, May 1, 2025: La Melosa CHS Ltd located in Chaudhary Park, Wakad has taken a major step toward sustainability by successfully completing a 76 kW rooftop solar project, significantly reducing its carbon footprint and setting a benchmark in community-led green initiatives.
The project, powered by 139 Adani bifacial mono 545W panels, is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 100 tons annually—equivalent to saving approximately 3,300 trees. The ₹70 lakh initiative was made possible with crucial support from the Central Financial Assistance (CFA) provided by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) under its Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Program.
The solar journey began in October 2024 with detailed feasibility studies and vendor evaluations, followed by swift execution in April 2025. The project was inaugurated in the presence of dignitaries including Vijaysheth Jagtap, Bharatitai Vinode, Vishal (Appa) Kalate, Rambhau Wakadkar, and Snehatai Kalate.
Key contributions came from the managing committee and residents such as Mr. Singh, Santosh Pawar, Kunal Jain, Chetan Bhadane, Shrikant Khating, Datta Ghodekar, Neeraj Deshmukh, and Hemant Shirsath. The dedicated Solar Committee—comprising Rahul Patil, Vinayak Bedake, Mohit Titarmare, and Amit—was instrumental in executing the project in collaboration with Yubi Solar.
Building on this momentum, La Melosa CHS Ltd is now gearing up to implement a waste management program focused on segregation, recycling, and treatment in partnership with the Swarnlata Motherson Trust and Indian Pollution Control Association.
The society is also enhancing its sewage treatment capabilities to improve water recycling efficiency and comply with health standards. Other green initiatives include tree and seedball plantation drives, along with regular health checkups and blood donation camps to promote community well-being.
