Pune Police Bust Fake Insurance Call Centre Racket, Three Arrested
Pune, January 31, 2025 – A 40-year-old man was arrested by the Wanowrie police on Thursday for setting fire to a two-wheeler belonging to his former girlfriend’s husband in Ramtekdi, Pune. The incident took place at around 5 AM, when the accused, Ahmed Pathan, allegedly torched the vehicle in a fit of rage.
According to the police, Pathan had been stalking the woman after she ended their relationship and married another man. The situation escalated on Wednesday when the woman and her husband confronted Pathan at a wedding function, accusing him of following them. After the woman refused to meet him, Pathan reportedly became enraged.
Early the next morning, he arrived at the woman’s residential society and set fire to her husband’s bike, which was parked outside their residence. The fire caused significant damage to the two-wheeler and also affected another bike parked nearby.
Senior Inspector Satyajit Adamane confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Pathan. Authorities have arrested him, and investigations are ongoing.
