Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. has completed the purchase of a 16.4-acre land parcel in Pune’s Hinjewadi for Rs 519.72 crore, according to Square Yards. This marks a major investment in one of India’s leading IT hubs. The acquisition is part of Microsoft’s broader strategy to expand its presence in India’s commercial real estate sector, including data centers, development centers, and flexible office spaces.

The deal, finalized in August 2024, involved the purchase of land from Indo Global Infotech City LLP. As per registration records, Microsoft paid Rs 31.18 crore in stamp duty and a registration fee of Rs 30,000.

This acquisition follows Microsoft’s other recent investments, such as the purchase of 25 acres in Pimpri-Chinchwad for Rs 328 crore in 2022 and 48 acres in Hyderabad earlier this year for Rs 267 crore. These transactions are in line with the company’s strategy to expand its data center operations across key locations like Pune, Mumbai, and Chennai.
