Pune News: PCMC Additional Commissioner Inspects Tree Plantation and Road Maintenance Work Along DP Roads
Pimpri, March 5, 2025: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil conducted an inspection on Tuesday (March 4) of tree plantation and maintenance work along developed roads and central medians under the ‘D’ and ‘B’ regional offices. To ensure pedestrian convenience, he directed officials to prevent encroachments on footpaths, maintain central medians, and take proper care of the trees planted in these areas.
To reduce traffic congestion and facilitate smooth pedestrian movement, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, under the guidance of Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh, has been implementing various measures. Additionally, tree plantations are regularly carried out along central medians and footpaths. As part of this initiative, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil inspected road dividers and footpaths at locations under the ‘D’ regional office, including Utkarsh Chowk in Wakad, Pink City, Kaverinagar Police Line, as well as locations under the ‘B’ regional office, including Guzarnagar, Chinchwade Chowk, Birla Hospital, and Akurdi. The inspection was attended by Assistant Commissioner of the Garden Department Umesh Dhakane, Co-City Engineer of the Structural Department Devanna Gattuwar, Garden Superintendent Rajendra Vasave, and other officials and staff from the Garden and Structural Departments.
During the inspection of roads in Wakad, Valhekarwadi, Akurdi, and Thergaon, Jambhale Patil instructed officials to ensure regular maintenance of central medians, timely tree plantation, proper watering of existing trees, and planting of shade-giving trees along pedestrian pathways wherever possible.
“An inspection was carried out to review tree plantation and maintenance on newly developed roads under the ‘D’ and ‘B’ regional offices of PCMC. Various measures are being taken by the municipal corporation to ease traffic congestion and ensure a safer and more comfortable pedestrian experience. Accordingly, necessary instructions have been given to the concerned departments.” said Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
