Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) sewerage management system has received a boost with the addition of two state-of-the-art recycle vehicles. These new vehicles will enhance the speed, efficiency, and effectiveness of sewage maintenance across the city. 

PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh has emphasized the commitment to maintaining this system in an optimal state, ensuring continuous improvements in sanitation, public health, and overall urban living standards.

Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate stated that the introduction of these modern vehicles would lead to a significant positive impact on cleanliness and public health. Provided free of cost by the Directorate of Municipal Administration, of the state government, the two vehicles have a capacity of 8 tons and 18 tons, respectively. These will play a crucial role in strengthening preventive maintenance and operational efficiency in sewage management.

The new vehicles were inaugurated by Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate, in the presence of Chief Engineer Sanjay Kulkarni, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, Executive Engineer Rajendra Jawale, and other PCMC officials and staff.

With these advanced vehicles, PCMC will be able to swiftly address sewer blockages, particularly during the monsoon, thereby mitigating waterlogging issues. This will ensure cleaner, safer, and more hygienic public infrastructure for citizens.

Meanwhile, an additional set of such vehicles is expected to be delivered within the next two to three months at government-specified rates. Currently, PCMC operates eight recycle vehicles through contractors. The addition of these new vehicles will significantly enhance the capacity and efficiency of the city’s sewerage management system.
