Pune News: PCMC Launches App-Based Pothole Complaint System Ahead Of Monsoon
Pimpri, June, 2, 2025: In a citizen-centric move ahead of the monsoon, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has developed an innovative Pothole Management System, enabling residents to report potholes directly via a mobile application. The initiative was officially announced by PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh.
The city faces recurring pothole issues every monsoon. To address this, PCMC has introduced a dedicated mobile app to streamline the complaint and resolution process. Through this app, citizens can report potholes, upload photographs with geo-location, and track the status of their complaints in real-time.
How To File A Complaint:
- Download the Smart Sarathi PCMC Mobile Application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Navigate to the “Report Pothole / खड्डे नोंदवा” section within the PCMC Services.
- Alternatively, search for “PCMC Pothole Management” directly in the app store or scan the provided QR code to download the app.
Registration Process:
- Create an account with your name, mobile number, and email ID.
- Verify your account using the OTP sent to your email.
Steps to Register a Complaint:
- Enable location services on your phone.
- Use the “Zoom GPS Location” to pinpoint the pothole location on the map and provide a nearby landmark.
- Select the type of issue (e.g., shallow pothole, deep pothole, chamber damage, utility trench damage).
- Enter the approximate length and width in meters.
- Upload clear photographs of the pothole and submit the complaint.
Upon submission, users will receive a unique complaint ID and tracking link via email. The complaint will be routed to the concerned junior engineer and higher officials for timely resolution. If unresolved, escalation emails and alerts will be sent to senior officials. Once resolved, a closure report with photographs will be sent to the complainant’s registered email.
“PCMC is committed to making roads pothole-free. The Pothole Management System will allow citizens to report issues conveniently while enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the resolution process,” said Shekhar Singh, Commissioner and Administrator, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
This initiative marks a significant step towards smarter urban governance, ensuring safer and smoother roads for Pimpri Chinchwad residents.
