Pune News: PMPML Discontinues Four Bus Routes To Improve Metro Connectivity At Swargate

Pune Civic Body Demands Bus Fare Hike As PMPML'S Losses Mount
In response to the newly launched metro service between Swargate and Pimpri, the Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMPML) has revised several bus routes to enhance transport efficiency for metro commuters. Starting Friday, October 11, 2024, four bus routes—Metro Shuttle No. 13, Route Nos. 38, 216, and 297—will no longer extend to Swargate Metro Station.
This change aims to provide higher-frequency bus services that align better with the metro’s operations. The adjustments will streamline the city’s transport network, making it more convenient for passengers transitioning between buses and the metro.
Affected Routes:
– Metro Shuttle No. 13 (Upper Depot to Civil Court, Shivajinagar): The route will stop at Swargate Metro Station, with bus frequency increased to 30 trips at 20-minute intervals.
– Route No. 38 (Dhankawadi to Na Ta Wadi): This route will terminate at Swargate, with buses available every 10 minutes across 68 trips.
– Route No. 216 (Bharati Vidyapeeth to Shivajinagar): Buses will now end at Swargate Metro Station, with 32 trips scheduled at 15-minute intervals.
– Route No. 297 (Rajesh Society to Shivajinagar): The route will stop at Swargate, with six additional trips, running every 1 hour 30 minutes.
PMPML encourages students, workers, and other commuters to utilize the modified services for smoother connectivity with the metro system.
