Pune News: Postmortem Report Reveals Shocking Details In Vaishnavi Hagawane Death Case; Blunt Injuries, Neck Trauma Indicated
In a major development in the Vaishnavi Hagawane death case, the postmortem report of the daughter-in-law of NCP Taluka President Rajendra Hagawane — who is linked to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s faction — has been made public. The report reveals multiple blunt injuries on her body and states the cause of death as neck compression, pointing towards foul play.
Leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sushma Andhare, shared the postmortem details on social media platform X and questioned Ajit Pawar directly: “Will you protect your party official or ensure justice for dowry victim Vaishnavi?”

Disturbing Revelations in the Case:
Vaishnavi had allegedly faced intense harassment over dowry, including demands for ₹2 crore for land purchase, 54 tolas of gold, a Fortuner car, silver utensils, and clothes. Reports suggest that she was regularly beaten, which ultimately pushed her to the brink. The police have confirmed marks of physical assault on her body.

A distressing phone call Vaishnavi made to her friend before her death has also surfaced, where she narrated the severe abuse she suffered at the hands of her in-laws and husband. She expressed deep regret over marrying into the family despite opposition and mentioned the indifference of her husband during the abuse.

Police Action and Family’s Demand:
While her husband Shashank, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law have been arrested, the police are still searching for Rajendra Hagawane and another relative. Vaishnavi’s family has demanded his immediate arrest, questioning why someone so politically connected remains at large.
It has also come to light that the Hagawane family allegedly harassed their elder daughter-in-law in a similar manner. She had registered a complaint at the Paud Police Station in November 2024.
Ajit Pawar had personally attended Vaishnavi’s wedding, giving his blessings. Her grieving family now calls on him to take action and deliver justice to their daughter.
