Pune, July 3, 2025: Ward No. 18 is once again grappling with severe pothole issues, just four to five months after the roads were repaired and asphalted following a protest by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Despite recent repairs, several roads in the Bhavani Peth regional office area have deteriorated rapidly, with potholes reappearing even on freshly asphalted stretches.

A massive pothole, measuring approximately 15 to 20 feet, has developed on the narrow road between Khadkamal Ali Church and Shitaladevi Chowk. Local residents are facing significant inconvenience while commuting through this stretch.

To draw the attention of the municipal authorities, MNS activists staged a symbolic protest by drawing rangoli around the pothole, decorating it with garlands and placing a flower pot (kundi) at the site.

MNS leaders Ravi Sahane and Sangram Talekar have issued a warning to the Pune Municipal Corporation, demanding immediate repair of the potholes and damaged roads in the ward. They further stated that if swift action is not taken, water from the potholes would be brought and poured into the municipal office as a mark of protest.
