Pune News: Traffic Changes Announced in Camp Area for Christmas Festival

To ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety during the Christmas festivities, the Pune Police have announced temporary traffic diversions and road closures on the evening of 24th December and throughout 25th December 2024.

A significant crowd is expected on Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road in the Pune Camp area, a popular hub for Christmas celebrations, including street events and gatherings. The temporary measures aim to prevent congestion, minimize accident risks, and ensure a safe environment for all participants.

Temporary Traffic Diversions & Closures

Effective Period:
From 7:00 PM on 24th December 2024 until the conclusion of festivities on 25th December 2024.

1. Traffic from Y Junction towards MG Road

• Vehicles will be stopped at 15th August Chowk.
• Traffic will be diverted via Qureshi Masjid and Sujata Mastani Chowk.

2. Traffic from ISKCON Mandir Chowk to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue

• Vehicles heading to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue and Arora Tower will be halted.
• Diversion will route traffic through SBI House Chowk, Tintofa Chowk, and onward to Lashkar Poste.

3. Traffic from Volga Chowk to Mohammad Rafi Chowk

• Vehicles will be stopped and diverted to Indira Gandhi Chowk via East Street Road.

4. Traffic from Indira Gandhi Chowk to Mahavir Chowk

• Movement will be halted, and vehicles will be rerouted from Indira Gandhi Chowk to Lashkar Police Station Chowk.

5. Traffic from Sarabatwala Chowk to Mahavir Chowk

• This route will be closed, and traffic will be redirected via Tabut Street Road.

Advisory for Motorists

• Plan Ahead: Use alternate routes to avoid delays.
• Follow Instructions: On-ground traffic police will guide vehicles.
• Be Patient: Cooperation with traffic authorities is crucial for a smooth commute.
