Pune, March 11, 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have arrested two individuals for allegedly vandalizing a restaurant and assaulting staff following a dispute over an unpaid food bill. The incident occurred late Saturday night at Hotel Patlancha Dhaba in the Chakan area.

The accused, identified as Vaibhav Gharmale and Suraj Ghumare, had dined at the restaurant along with six to seven others but allegedly refused to pay the bill, leading to an altercation with the staff. According to the complaint filed by the restaurant owner, Shubham Mungase, the group initially left the premises but later returned around 10:30 PM, armed with iron rods and wooden sticks. They damaged property and physically attacked staff members Sandeep Mandal and Munna Kumar, who attempted to intervene.

Before fleeing, the accused allegedly stole ₹5,500 from the counter.

A case has been registered at Chakan Police Station under Sections 310(2), 324(4), 352, 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant provisions. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the incident.
