Pune Police Arrest Two For Molesting Journalist During Ganpati Visarjan
Pune, January 20, 2025: Wanawadi Police have arrested a 20-year-old man accused of secretly recording a private video of a woman, circulating it on social media, and demanding money and sexual favors in exchange for deleting the footage. The case, registered under sections 77, 78, 79, and 308(2) of the Indian Penal Code, was handled with urgency given its seriousness. Police Sub-Inspector Dhanaji Tone, along with officers Amol Pilane and Atul Gaikwad, utilized advanced technical analysis to track the suspect’s activities on social media.
The investigative team traced the accused, Krishna Sampat Shinde, a resident of Chavan Mala slum near Bitco Police Chowky in Nashik. With assistance from Nashik Police, the team apprehended the accused. Upon interrogation, it was revealed that Shinde, needing money, secretly filmed the victim’s private moments, created a fake Instagram ID, and made the video viral. He then demanded ₹30,000 to delete the footage and even sought sexual favors.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of senior officials, including Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Dnyaneshwar Godse. The team included Police Sub-Inspector Dhanaji Tone and officers Amol Pilane, Atul Gaikwad, Gopal Madane, and others.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing to gather more evidence and ensure justice for the victim.
