A young man was brutally killed over a minor dispute about overtaking a vehicle in Hingane Khurd on Sinhagad Road, Pune. The incident took place when a disagreement over overtaking led to a violent attack. The victim, Abhay Maruti Suryavanshi, age 20, a resident of Ganeshnagar Colony in Hingane Khurd, suffered fatal injuries after being struck 35 times with a sickle. The suspects in the case are reported to be minors.

According to the Sinhagad Road Police, Suryavanshi, who worked at a local sweet shop, lived in the same area as the accused. An argument reportedly broke out on Friday regarding the overtaking of a two-wheeler. Around 6:30 p.m., while Suryavanshi was standing outside his home, the minors involved approached him and launched a sudden attack. Suryavanshi succumbed to his injuries on the spot, and the attackers fled immediately after.

Passersby and family members rushed the injured Suryavanshi to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed of the incident. Two minors have since been detained, while a search is ongoing for the remaining suspects. A case has been registered at the Sinhagad Road Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
